Again this year I will be participating in the PRISMA Health Dragon Boat Festival to support cancer patients in our community. This fundraiser helps provide much-needed support for local cancer prevention and early detection, advanced cancer research and patient programs, as well as life-changing patient and survivor programs. 

 

The Dragon Boat Upstate Festival event provides a unique opportunity for us to honor and remember loved ones that have faced or continue to face the disease. The premise is simple: each team raises funds to be allowed to paddle a Dragon Boat. Winning team gets bragging rights and--most importantly-- local cancer patients Win with extra support.

 

Most of us have been touched by cancer in some way, and this event provides both serious and fun moments to fight it. On May 3rd will be paddling fiercely with Team Acadia, the "Ragin' Cajuns."
